Continuation of Detention and Lack of Information Regarding the Fate of 3 Environmental Activists: Khalil Parandak, Shahab Soleimani, and Edris Golmohammadi
July 21, 2026 — Several days after the arbitrary detention of three environmental activists from Ravansar, Kermanshah Province—identified as Khalil Parandak, Shahab Soleimani, and Edris Golmohammadi—there is still no information available regarding their whereabouts or condition. They continue to be denied access to legal counsel, phone calls, and family visits.
An informed source confirmed the news to Kurdpa, stating:
"On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Khalil Parandak was arbitrarily arrested and transferred to an undisclosed location after being summoned by phone to a security agency. One week after his arrest, no information is available regarding his whereabouts or condition."
Additionally, on Friday, July 17, 2026, two other environmental activists from Ravansar, Shahab Soleimani and Edris Golmohammadi, were arrested after being summoned by security agencies and were subsequently transferred to an unknown location.
Khalil Parandak is a 39-year-old environmental activist. Shahab Soleimani is a 40-year-old first-class attorney at law and environmental activist, and Edris Golmohammadi is also a 39-year-old environmental activist. These three activists have played prominent roles in environmental protection in recent years and have been repeatedly summoned by security authorities in this regard.
As of the publication of this report, the reasons for their detention remain unknown, and security forces have provided no explanation.
Furthermore, since their arrest, the three activists have been held in total incommunicado detention, deprived of their right to legal representation, telephone access, and family visits.
