August 23, 2026; With the late-night arrest of "Mohammad Danesh-Mayeh", a young Kurdish man from Piranshahr, the number of detainees in this city reached two. Kurdpa had previously reported the arrest of "Soran Mahmoudi". Both citizens have a history of prior arrest and prison sentences.

According to an informed source speaking to Kurdpa; in the middle of the night on Sunday, August 23, 2026, two young Kurdish men named "Soran Mahmoudi", son of Khaled, and "Mohammad Danesh-Mayeh" (also known as "Mohammad Bivafa"), son of Qader and resident of Piranshahr, were arbitrarily arrested by security forces without presentation of a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location.

Until the time of publication of this news, no information is available regarding the reasons for the arrest or possible charges against these two Kurdish citizens, and security forces have provided no explanation in this regard. Furthermore, they have had no contact with their families, and there is no information on their fate or whereabouts.

"Soran Mahmoudi" was previously arbitrarily arrested by security forces in late September 2023. Following the conclusion of his interrogations in late October 2023, he was transferred from a security detention center in Piranshahr to Nagadeh Prison. Subsequently, on November 13, 2023, he was temporarily released from Nagadeh Prison on a 3 billion Toman bail.

Soran Mahmoudi was ultimately sentenced in May 2024 by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad, presided over by Judge "Dousti", to three years in prison on charges of "membership and cooperation with an opposition Kurdish party."

Additionally, "Mohammad Danesh-Mayeh" was also arrested in 2023, held in arbitrary detention for a period, and subsequently sentenced to prison.
