August 23, 2026; Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, announced this morning the execution of "Majid Adineh", another protester from the January 2026 demonstrations. The Islamic Republic executed this citizen on charges of "Moharebeh" (enmity against God) and based on the law intensifying penalties for espionage, simultaneously releasing a spliced video of his forced confessions. This sentence was carried out in a secret, opaque, and non-transparent process, with Mizan News Agency omitting any mention of the execution location or the fate of his body. With the execution of Majid Adineh, the number of January 2026 protesters executed since March 18, 2026, has reached 29.

Mizan News Agency labeled Majid Adineh as an "agent of the US and Israel", vaguely claiming that he was "trained by hostile groups" and "affiliated with terrorist groups based in a neighboring territory." The outlet claimed he was sentenced to death and full confiscation of assets by the Karaj Revolutionary Court under the espionage penalty intensification law on charges of "Moharebeh, assembly and collusion with intent to commit crimes against internal security, propaganda against the state, and possession of a handgun, ammunition, stun gun, chainsaw, and tear gas."

Mizan also reported that Majid Adineh was arrested on January 9, 2026, alongside another individual by the IRGC Intelligence in the "Mohammadshahr" area of Alborz Province, carrying weapons including a handgun, stun gun, tear gas spray, chainsaw, and gasoline bottles—equipment the news agency designated as "war material."

The Judiciary claimed that laboratory tests confirmed the seized firearm had been used, yet provided no details regarding the time, location, or circumstances of its use. The only evidence presented by the Judiciary was spliced footage of Majid Adineh's statements in court on an undisclosed date, showing a judge's voice and a blurred-face individual referencing his entry "like a commando" along with references to a "chainsaw and gasoline", while Majid Adineh spoke about a chainsaw, bullets, and magazines.

Mizan News Agency claims the case of Majid Adineh was processed based on documentation and executed after appeal and confirmation by the Supreme Court; however, he was executed merely 7 months and 13 days following his arrest—an extraordinarily brief period for proceedings culminating in a death sentence. Furthermore, no information has been released regarding the details of the judicial process, the number or nature of court sessions, access to legal counsel (whether chosen or court-appointed), case file access, defense proceedings, or the right to appeal, with Mizan relying solely on the edited forced confession video.

Since March 18, 2026, at least 29 individuals have been executed in connection with the January 2026 protests, listed in chronological order of execution: Saleh Mohammadi, Saeed Davoodi, Mehdi Qasemi, Amir-Hossein Hatami, Mohammad-Amin Biglari, Shahin Vahedparast Kolor, Ali Fahim, Amir-Ali Mir-Ja'fari, Erfan Kiani, Sasan Azadvar, Ebrahim Dowlatabadi-Nezhad, Mehdi Rasouli, Mohammad-Reza Miri, Mohammad Abbasi, Abbas Akbari Feizabadi, Ashkan Maleki, Mehrdad Mohammadinia, Fathollah Avari, Javad Zamani, Abolfazl Sa'edi, Mohammad Amini Dehaqani, Erfan Esfandiari, Gol-Mohammad Mohammadi, Mehdi Khanki, Abolfazl Sepahi Badjani, Amir-Hossein Safari Hosseinabadi, Shahram Sadeqhi, Qa'em Hosseini, and Majid Adineh.
