Sardasht; 4 Days of Violent Detention for Mullah Abu Bakr Yousefi and Younes Mousapour, and No Information on Their Fate
July 8, 2026; Following four days since the arbitrary and violent arrest of two Kurdish citizens from "Nelas" named "Mullah Abu Bakr Yousefi" and "Younes Mousapour" by the IRGC Intelligence Organization, no information is available regarding their fate after being transferred to a security detention center in Urmia. The lack of accountability from security agencies has significantly heightened their families' concerns.
An informed source confirmed the details to Kurdpa, stating: On the evening of Sunday, July 5, 2026, armed IRGC intelligence forces launched a large-scale raid on a family garden-house (Khaneh-Bagh) in the town of Nelas, a suburb of Rabt in Sardasht county. Following an extensive barrage of gunfire directed at the property, they violently arrested two Kurdish citizens, "Mullah Abu Bakr Yousefi" (known as Mullah Abu Bakr Halweh), son of Haji Ahmad, and "Younes Mousapour," and transferred them to an IRGC intelligence facility in Urmia.
According to the source, Mullah Abu Bakr Yousefi is the religious scholar (Mamosta) of the "Hazrat Ibrahim" Mosque in Nelas and shares a close family relation with Younes Mousapour. The two were present at their garden-house when armed IRGC forces besieged the premises under the pretext of "the presence of Kurdish opposition party forces." The operatives initially fired a heavy volley of bullets from the outside, leaving visible bullet marks on the structure. Upon realizing that no opposition forces were inside, the IRGC personnel entered the property and violently apprehended both citizens without presenting a judicial warrant.
To date, the underlying reasons and charges for their detention remain unknown, and security agencies have provided no explanation. Furthermore, they are being denied all forms of access to legal counsel, family visitations, and telephone calls, with authorities offering no responses to the families' extensive inquiries.
