Zahedan؛ Amer Ramesh Baluch political prisoner was executed

00:06 - 27 April 2026

April 26, 2026; the media of the Islamic Republic reported the execution of the death sentence of a Baluch political prisoner named "Amer Ramesh." Previously, his forced confessions, which were obtained under torture, had been broadcast by state media. He is the tenth political prisoner affiliated with opposition groups to the state who has been executed within the past month.

According to a report by Tasnim News Agency, the death sentence of "Amer Ramesh," who had been sentenced to death on charges of "Baghy (armed rebellion) through bombing and conducting ambushes in the path of military forces, membership in the rebel group Jaish al-Adl, and membership in the hostile group Baluch Justice Seekers Movement affiliated with Abdolghaffar Naghshbandi," was carried out on the morning of Sunday, April 26, 2026. Tasnim did not mention the location of the execution, but "Haal Vsh," one of the Baluch human rights organizations, identified the location of the execution as the Central Prison of Zahedan.

The Balochistan Human Rights Documentation Network also reported that he had been transferred to the quarantine of the Central Prison of Zahedan on Friday, April 24, 2026, for the execution of the death sentence.

Amer Ramesh, who was about 20 years old at the time of his arrest in October 2024, was deprived of a fair trial process and, according to human rights organizations, was subjected to torture after his arrest to obtain televised forced confessions. Furthermore, during his detention, he was deprived of the right to have a lawyer and meetings with his family, and after about 8 months, in May 2025, he met with his family for the first time. In the judicial process, his case was also upheld for the second time by the Supreme Court, without regard for objections.

According to the report by "Haal Vsh," "Amer Ramesh" was targeted by security forces' gunfire and arrested while working in a herbal medicine shop in the village of "Belingi" in the vicinity of the city of Chabahar. In this attack, military-security forces raided this shop using light and semi-heavy weapons, including RPGs and mortars, which resulted in the killing of at least three people and the wounding of two others.

At that same time, authorities had informed Amer's family that he had been killed, but later his forced confessions were broadcast by state media. In this video, severe bruising marks under his eyes were clearly visible, which could be a sign of the tortures inflicted.

Previously, "Haal Vsh" had also reported that security forces had put Amer Ramesh's family under pressure and threatened that if his brother—who is a political activist opposing the Islamic Republic abroad—did not cooperate, Amer's death sentence would be executed.
