Hashtgerd; Sana Tusangi, 12-year-old student, from the Yarsan Kurds of Kermanshah Killed by two live ammunition rounds to the waist and back of the head on January 9
January 28, 2026; “Sana Tusangi,” a 12-year-old student, a Kurd from Kermanshah and resident of “Hashtgerd” in Esfahan, is the identity of another victim of the popular protests of January 9 in “Hashtgerd,” who was targeted by direct and targeted live ammunition fire from the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic in the waist and back of the neck area with a “Kalashnikov” combat weapon and lost her life instantly.
An informed source, while confirming this news to Kurdpa, stated; “Sana Tusangi,” a 12-year-old student, a Kurd from Kermanshah and resident of Hashtgerd, on the evening of Friday, January 9, 2026, around 9:00 PM, on the street across from one of the Criminal Investigation Department centers, in front of the Governor’s Office and on “Ayatollah Khamenei” Boulevard, while the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic had suddenly proceeded to turn off the streetlights and extensively attacked the people and protesters, was targeted by direct fire from behind. One of the bullets hit her waist area and another bullet hit the back of her head, and she died at that very moment.
The body of Sana Tusangi was buried in a highly securitized atmosphere and in the presence of plainclothes forces. Security agencies placed her family under severe pressure and forced them to provide a written commitment. She was buried in “Nazarabad” cemetery, near Hashtgerd, and forcibly in a quiet and remote location. Furthermore, the family was not allowed to transfer her body to her birthplace, and until now, the family of this deceased child remains under severe pressure and repression from security agencies.
Sana Tusangi was originally from the “Kozaran” district of Kermanshah, from the Sanjabi Yarsan Kurds and the well-known “Tusangi” tribe.
