January 28, 2026; “Yusef Bakhshi,” a 27-year-old Kurmanji Kurdish youth from “Quchan” in Khorasan Razavi province and a resident of Chalus, is the identity of another of the victims of the popular protests of January 8 in Chalus, who was killed by a direct shot of live ammunition to the heart area by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic.
An informed source, while confirming this news to Kurdpa, stated: “Yusef Bakhshi,” a 27-year-old Kurdish youth, was originally from the Kurmanji Kurds of “Quchan” in Khorasan Razavi province. On the evening of January 8, 2026, during the popular protests in Chalus, around 9:00 PM, the family found his body in the street; he had lost a large amount of blood and had been targeted by direct fire from the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic to the heart area.
The family immediately transferred him to the hospital, but “Yusef Bakhshi” passed away in his brother's arms only five minutes after arriving at the hospital. To prevent the abduction of the body by security agencies, despite many difficulties, the family cleared his body from the hospital and buried him on January 10, 2026, in Quchan.
“Yusef Bakhshi” was a local tradesman in Chalus and had moved to this city with his family a few years ago for work. The family is deeply grieving following the state killing of their son. His mother only prays to join her son as soon as possible, as she cannot endure the separation, and relatives constantly repeat this verse of poetry to calm her: “The lost Joseph shall return to Canaan, grieve not.”
