Islamabad-e Gharb; Reza Darvishi, 27-Year-Old Kurdish Youth, Identity of Another of the January 8 Victims
January 24, 2026; “Reza Darvishi,” a 27-year-old Kurdish youth from Islamabad-e Gharb (Shabad) in Kermanshah province, is the identity of another of the victims of the popular protests in this city who was killed by direct fire from the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic.
An informed source, while confirming this news to Kurdpa, stated; “Reza Darvishi,” a 27-year-old Kurdish youth from Islamabad-e Gharb (Shabad), was targeted by direct fire of live ammunition from the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic and lost his life on the evening of January 8, 2026, during the popular protests in Islamabad-e Gharb near the “Imam Hossein” mosque of Shabad.
His body was buried on January 10, 2026, with widespread public attendance and the chanting of the slogan “Martyr of the path of freedom.”
It has not yet been determined for Kurdpa whether an amount was received from the family for the delivery of this victim's body or if they were forced to sign a written commitment; however, sources had previously told Kurdpa that government institutions have received amounts between 700 million Tomans and one billion Tomans from families for the delivery of the bodies of those killed in Kermanshah, and families have been forced to pay these amounts to receive the bodies.
