Teachers from Saqqez and Zivieh Visit Convicted Educators and Protest Harsh Sentences with the Song “Don’t Leave Me Alone”

On September 5, 2025, a group of members from the Saqqez and Zivieh Teachers’ Union, along with several educators from the city, visited the home of Loqman Allahmoradi, a teacher sentenced to a heavy prison term, to express their solidarity with him and other convicted colleagues across Kurdistan.
During the visit, teachers protested the unfair and unlawful rulings issued against union and educational activists in Kurdistan, and reaffirmed the legitimate right of teachers’ unions to operate legally. They emphasized that they would pursue all legal and civil avenues to defend their dedicated and critical colleagues from injustice.
The gathering took on a symbolic and heartfelt tone, with participants performing the Kurdish song “Be tenya jêm mehelên” ("Don’t Leave Me Alone") as a gesture of unity and resistance in the face of governmental pressure.

A group of members of the Saqqez and Zivieh Teachers’ Union, along with other educators from the city, representing their colleagues, held a heartfelt visit with Mr. Allahmoradi to express their support for him and other colleagues who have been unjustly sentenced in Kurdistan.
Participants in this visit objected to the issuance of unfair and unlawful rulings against a number of teachers in Kurdistan, including Mr. Allahmoradi, and affirmed the rightful place of union organizations to carry out legal activities.
They also emphasized their unwavering support for colleagues who have been wrongfully and unjustly sentenced and declared that they would utilize all legal, union, and civil tools to combat the oppression inflicted upon their committed and critical peers.
