Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa): Three Kurdish Kolbars (porter) from three different cities, Mariwan, Diwandare and Sna (Sanandaj) were killed and wounded in a landmine explosion.

According to reports sent by out correspondents, early this morning, the 25th of September, two Kurdish Kolbars were killed and another one was severely injured due to a landmine explosion in border regions of Mariwan.

Abdolla Mohammadzadeh, from Tinal village, located in the city of Mariwan and Ali Naderi, from Gonto village, located in the city of Diwandare were killed. Hamid Saeedi, from Bainchoob village in Sna was critically wounded; one of his legs was cut off in the incident.

The dead bodies and the wounded have been transferred to Boali Sina Hospital in Mariwan.

Kolbari (carrying goods on their backs from the Iraqi Kurdistan to the Iranian Kurdistan) in order to make a living is a dangerous job. The economic crisis in the Kurdish provinces of Iran, especially in the border regions, is one of the main causes of taking up this job by people.

Kurdish Kolbars who have to take up this job to earn a living more often lose their lives due to different reasons such as being shot dead by the Iranian military forces, frostbite or landmine explosion.

Even though the provinces like West Azarbayejan, Kurdisrtan, Ilam, Kermansha and Khouzestan are the most mine-infested regions in Iran with more than 16 million mine lands, the Iranian government has not yet done anything to tackle this problem.
