Urmia Prison; Execution Sentence of Farzad Sobhani Carried Out

On the dawn of Wednesday, July 29, 2026, the execution sentence of a child-offender prisoner named "Farzad Sobhani" from Naghadeh, who had been sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) on charges of "premeditated murder," was carried out in Urmia Central Prison.

According to an informed source who spoke to Kurdpa, this Kurdish prisoner was transferred on Monday, July 27, 2026, from Naghadeh Prison to solitary confinement in Urmia Prison for the execution of the sentence.

The informed source added: Three years ago, at the age of 16, this prisoner was arrested on charges of "premeditated murder" and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary on the same charge.

Farzad Sobhani, son of Far'an, is from the village of "Gerdeh Qeyt" in Naghadeh.

As of now, the news of the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official sources or domestic Iranian media.
