Naghadeh Prison; Tayeb Abdollahpour, Kurdish political prisoner from Piranhehr, granted 10-day leave
February 10, 2026; “Tayeb Abdollahpour,” a Kurdish political prisoner from the village of “Shinabad” in the suburbs of “Piranhehr,” was granted a 10-day leave from “Naghadeh Prison” on February 3, 2026. Following the conclusion of this leave, he is scheduled to return to Naghadeh Prison on February 15, 2026.
This Kurdish citizen had presented himself to Naghadeh Prison on January 10, 2026, to begin serving his 20-month prison sentence.
According to the court verdict document provided to “Kurdpa,” on February 18, 2024, Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad—presided over by judges “Sajjad Dousti” and “Gholam Karimkhani”—sentenced Tayeb Abdollahpour to 32 months of discretionary imprisonment on charges of “membership in one of the Kurdish parties” and 9 months on charges of “propaganda against the state.”
Applying Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, the most severe punishment was deemed applicable; however, considering his marital status, his two children, and his psychological state, the sentence was reduced to 20 months of enforceable imprisonment under Clause “B” of Article 37. He was acquitted of the charge of “assembly and collusion against national security.”
Tayeb Abdollahpour was previously arrested by security forces in the early hours of Monday, July 10, 2023, without a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location. Following the conclusion of the interrogation phase, he had been released temporarily upon posting bail.
