Bojnord Prison; 15 days of arbitrary detention and uncertainty for Adel Raeis Ghanavati, a Kurdish youth in quarantine
February 8, 2026; Following more than two weeks since the arbitrary detention of “Adel Raeis Ghanavati,” a Kurmanj Kurdish citizen from “Ashkhaneh” in “North Khorasan” province, he continues to be held in a state of uncertainty and arbitrary detention in the quarantine section of “Bojnord Prison.”
An informed source, while confirming this news to “Kurdpa,” stated; “Adel Raeis Ghanavati” was arrested by security forces on January 24, 2026, without the presentation of a judicial warrant and was transferred to an unknown location. According to this source, after some time, he informed his family through phone calls that he is being held in the quarantine section of “Bojnord Prison.”
During his period of arbitrary detention, this Kurdish citizen has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer and visit with his family. Security and judicial authorities have so far provided no explanation regarding the status of his case or the possibility of temporary release.
