Sanandaj; Extension of Detention for Keyvan Zand-Karimi, Environmental Activist Serious Concerns for His Life Due to Dire Conditions and Severe Torture

An informed source, in a conversation with “Kurdpa,” confirmed this news and stated: among the 10 civil activists arrested on January 4, 2026, only “Keyvan Zand-Karimi” remains in detention, while the other nine individuals named “Shaho Mohammadi,” “Jamal Khodarahmi,” “Khabat Asadi,” “Arman Salimi,” “Khaled Seif-Panahi,” “Ghaneh Khateri,” “Bayan Farajollahi,” “Dalir Eskandari,” and “Vorya Moayed” have been temporarily released.
The source further stated regarding the status of “Keyvan Zand-Karimi”: His detention order has been extended for another month despite a month already passing since his arbitrary arrest. Received reports indicate that he is under intense physical torture, and there is a serious concern for his life and fate.
