Tehran; 27 Days of Arbitrary Detention and Severe Torture of Saeid Piri, Kurdish Citizen from Ilam

February 4, 2026; After 27 days since the arbitrary detention of “Saeid Piri,” a Kurdish citizen from “Abdanan” County in “Ilam” province, he remains in detention under uncertain conditions. This Kurdish citizen is being held for interrogation while reports indicate he has been subjected to severe physical torture and is deprived of medical care.

According to an informed source in a conversation with “Kurdpa,” “Saeid Piri” was arrested on January 7, 2026, in the “Howz-e Narmak” area of “Tehran” by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant and was transferred to an unknown location.

Based on obtained information, he was subjected to severe physical torture for 10 days, which resulted in the breaking of his teeth and ribs. Despite the deterioration of his physical condition, no medical attention has been provided to him so far.

The source also added that since the time of his arrest, “Saeid Piri” has been completely deprived of the right to access a lawyer and the right to visit his family.
