Kermanshah; 43 Days of Detention and Absolute Lack of Information Regarding "Soroush Karami", an 18-Year-Old Youth/ His life and fate are at risk

February 19, 2026; Following 43 days of arbitrary detention and an absolute lack of information regarding "Soroush Karami", an 18-year-old Kurdish youth from Kermanshah, there is still no information available concerning his fate or place of detention. This situation has led to severe concern for his family and relatives regarding his life and future.

An informed source, while confirming this news, told Kurdpa: "Soroush Karami" was detained on the evening of January 8, 2026, amidst the popular protests in the "Maskan" neighborhood of Kermanshah, characterized by the bloody suppression of citizens and arbitrary arrests. He was taken by security forces without a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location. Since then, despite the family's repeated inquiries, no institution or agency has provided an answer or any information regarding his status.

Throughout his 43 days of arbitrary detention, this 18-year-old youth has been deprived of the right to any contact or visitation with his family, as well as access to a lawyer.
