Bojnord; 5 Days of Arbitrary Detention of Amir-Mohammad Piroozi and Transfer to an Unknown Location/ Judo Practitioner and National Team Member

February 19, 2026; In the continuation of the wave of arbitrary and mass detentions of Kurdish citizens, "Amir-Mohammad Piroozi", a Kurdish youth from "Bojnord" who is a judoka and a member of the national team, was arbitrarily detained by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.

An informed source, while confirming this news, told Kurdpa: "Amir-Mohammad Piroozi" was detained on February 15, 2026, without a judicial warrant during a raid on his home by security forces and has been transferred to an undisclosed location.

Until the publication of this report, there is no information available regarding the reasons for the detention of this young athlete, and security forces have provided no explanation in this regard. Furthermore, this Kurdish youth has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer and contact or visitation with his family.
