According to an informed source who spoke to Kurdpa, “Nazanin Zahra Esmikhani,” an 18-year-old youth, photographer, and guitarist, was targeted and killed by live ammunition fire from the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic on the evening of Friday, January 9, 2026, during the popular protests in the city of “Mohammadiyeh,” Qazvin.
The body of Nazanin Zahra Esmikhani was buried in the cemetery of the “Hesar Khorvan” settlement in Qazvin. Security and governmental institutions delivered her body to the family in exchange for receiving a sum of 300 million Tomans. Since the burial, her family has been under intense surveillance by security agencies. It has also been reported that in Qazvin, plainclothes forces have been visiting the homes of the families of the deceased by introducing themselves as relatives of other victims, and through several-hour-long presences, they monitor movements and collect information regarding the status of mourning ceremonies.
