Ilam; Continuation of Detention and Three Weeks of Silence Regarding the Status of Dr. Nabi Omidi

Despite the passage of three weeks since the arrest of Dr. Nabi Omidi, Associate Professor of Economics at Ilam University, there is no precise information regarding his fate.
According to an informed source to Kurdpa, this Kurdish citizen is in an unfavorable condition at the Ilam Intelligence Department detention center and has so far been deprived of access to a lawyer and meetings with his family.
On Sunday, January 4, 2026, Dr. Nabi Omidi was arrested by security forces without being presented with a judicial warrant and in a violent manner.
Until now, no precise information has been obtained regarding the reason for the arrest or the charges brought against Mr. Omidi.
