Kermanshah; Mohammad Mehdi Bagheri, 16-Year-Old Kurdish Teenager, Wounded in the Street, Died During Transfer After Arrest, and His Body Abandoned

January 23, 2026; “Mohammad Mehdi Bagheri,” a 16-year-old Kurdish teenager from Kermanshah, was targeted by live ammunition from repressive forces on the evening of January 8 during popular protests. Following his arrest, he lost his life due to severe bleeding during transfer, and his body was abandoned by the side of the street.

An informed source, while confirming this news to Kurdpa, stated; “Mohammad Mehdi Bagheri” was shot by plainclothes forces on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, during the popular protests in Kermanshah in the “Maskan” neighborhood while chanting the slogan “Death to Khamenei.” Despite severe bleeding, he was arrested, and the plainclothes forces placed his bloody body in a car and took him away.

This informed source, quoting some of those detained alongside him, added; this 16-year-old teenager lost his life during the transfer, and the plainclothes forces abandoned his body by the side of the road.

Following the government murder of Mohammad Mehdi, his family has been targeted by threats and pressure from security agencies and the IRGC, and they have been threatened that his 10-year-old brother will be arrested. These pressures to silence the family continue.

The body of this teenager was buried on January 11, 2026, in the “Bagh-e Ferdows” cemetery in Kermanshah.
