Kermanshah; Hassan Fallahi, Kurdish Yarsan Youth, Identity of Another of the January 9 Victims

January 22, 2026; “Hassan Fallahi,” a young Kurdish Yarsan citizen from Kermanshah, is the identity of another of the victims of the January 9 popular protests in this city who was killed by the firing of live ammunition by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic.

An informed source, while confirming this news to Kurdpa, stated; “Hassan Fallahi” was targeted by direct fire of live ammunition from the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic from behind on the evening of Friday, January 9, 2026, during the popular protests in Kermanshah, in the “Elahieh” neighborhood, and lost his life.

It has not yet been determined for Kurdpa whether an amount was received from the family for the delivery of this victim's body or if they were forced to sign a written commitment; however, sources had previously told Kurdpa that government institutions have received amounts between 700 million Tomans and one billion Tomans from families for the delivery of the bodies of those killed in Kermanshah, and families have been forced to pay these amounts to receive the bodies.

According to local sources, security forces did not allow the burial of Hassan Fallahi’s body in the city of Kermanshah, and the family was forced to bury him in their family village, “Sarailan Toweh-Khaki” (Khoshkroud area) in the county of Kermanshah.

The burial ceremony of this victim was held on January 11, 2026, and despite the intense security atmosphere, a number of participants in the ceremony chanted anti-government slogans.
