January 22, 2026; “Hassan-Ali Norouzi Sameleh,” a 54-year-old Kurdish citizen originally from Kermanshah and a resident of Mashhad, is the identity of another victim of the popular protests in Mashhad. He was killed by live ammunition from the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic, and his body was buried without the family's knowledge. Relatives of this victim have reported the secret burial of 400 individuals in Mashhad by government forces without informing their families.
An informed source who spoke with a member of the victim's family, while confirming this news to “Kurdpa,” stated: “Hassan-Ali Norouzi Sameleh,” a 54-year-old Kurdish citizen from Kermanshah and resident of Mashhad—whose exact date of death is unknown but likely coincided with the mass killings on January 8 or 9, 2026—was targeted by direct fire of live ammunition from the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic during the popular protests in Mashhad and lost his life.
According to this informed source, after a period of receiving no news regarding his fate, the family of “Norouzi Sameleh” concluded that Mr. Norouzi had been killed during the protests. When the family visited the relevant agencies to receive the body, they were only shown a grave in the cemetery and told that this was his burial site.
Based on the family’s statements, repressive forces and security agencies buried the victim’s body without informing or obtaining consent from the family. His relatives state that Mr. Norouzi was buried secretly by government forces along with “approximately 400 others.”
An image obtained by “Kurdpa” shows the section related to the grave of “Hassan-Ali Norouzi Sameleh.” On this grave, details such as “Hassan-Ali Norouzi 1,” “Block 48,” and “Row 18, Grave 48” are inscribed.
The family also checked the official deceased registry website of Mashhad but discovered that the names of none of the victims have been registered there.
“Hassan-Ali Norouzi Sameleh,” a Kurdish citizen from Kermanshah, was born on April 22, 1971, and resided in Mashhad. He worked as a laborer in one of the city's hotels.
“Kurdpa” cannot independently confirm the news of the killing of “400 individuals” but is maintaining this preliminary information under investigation for the purpose of verifying the scale of the massacre that occurred in Mashhad.
