Tehran; Masoud Sadeghi, Kurdish Youth from Sarpol-e Zahab, Identity of Another of the January 9 Victims

January 21, 2026; “Masoud Sadeghi,” a 37-year-old Kurdish youth from the county of “Sarpol-e Zahab” in Kermanshah province, is the identity of another of the victims of the popular protests on January 9 in Tehran who was killed by live ammunition from the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic.

An informed source, while confirming this news to “Kurdpa,” stated: “Masoud Sadeghi” was targeted by direct fire of live ammunition from the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic on the evening of Friday, January 9, 2026, during the popular protests in Tehran and lost his life.

The body of this Kurdish citizen was identified and received in Tehran after one week of inquiries by the family.

The body of this 37-year-old youth is scheduled to be buried on Thursday, January 22, 2026, in the cemetery of the village of “Kuseh-haye Patagh,” a suburb of the county of Sarpol-e Zahab.

It has not yet been determined for “Kurdpa” whether an amount was received from the family for the delivery of this victim's body or if they were forced to sign a written commitment; however, sources had previously told “Kurdpa” that government institutions have received amounts between 700 million Tomans and one billion Tomans from families for the delivery of the bodies of those killed in Kermanshah, and families have been forced to pay these amounts to receive the bodies.
