January 21, 2026; “Milad Otmani,” a Kurdish youth from Salmas, is the identity of another of the victims of the January 8 popular protests in Tehran whose body was delivered to the family after 12 days, following his wounding and detention by security agencies.
According to reports received by “Kurdpa,” “Milad Otmani” was detained on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, during the popular protests in Tehran after being wounded by repressive forces. Despite repeated inquiries by the family, no information regarding his fate or place of detention was available until January 20, 2026.
Ultimately, on January 20, 2026, the family of Milad Otmani was summoned to Tehran by security agencies, and his body was delivered to the family without any explanation being provided.
It has not yet been determined for “Kurdpa” whether Milad Otmani died as a result of the severity of injuries from gunfire or if he was subjected to torture and killed after detention.
Milad Otmani, along with “Diyar Pourchehrigh,” a 32-year-old Kurdish citizen from the village of “Petavir,” a suburb of Salmas, had been targeted by direct fire from the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic in the Punak area of Tehran. “Diyar Pourchehrigh” had died instantly at the scene, and until January 20, 2026, there was no official information regarding the fate of Milad Otmani following his wounding and detention.
Milad Otmani was originally from the village of “Haq-Varan,” a suburb of Salmas, and his body was buried in this village after being received by the family.
