Ahmad Hassanzadeh Released from Bukan Prison

On Monday, April 21, 2025, Ahmad Hassanzadeh, the father of Mohammad Hassanzadeh, one of the victims of the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising in Bukan, was released from the city’s prison after completing his sentence.

He had been transferred to Bukan prison on Wednesday, February 7, 2025, to serve his sentence.

Mr. Hassanzadeh had been sentenced to three months in prison by Branch 101 of the Bukan Criminal Court (Type Two) on charges of “propaganda against the state”, and this sentence had been communicated to him on Thursday, December 5, 2024.

Previously, he had been temporarily released on bail on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from Bukan Prison.

He had been arrested on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, by plainclothes agents in one of the streets of Bukan, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising, and was transferred to prison the next day, Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

Mr. Hassanzadeh has reportedly been arrested and summoned multiple times by security forces.
