Kurdistan Newroz Crackdown: Mohammad Ali Azari Arrested by Security Forces

On the morning of Friday, March 28, 2025, a Kurdish citizen identified as Mohammad Ali Azari, son of Mouloud, originally from Naqadeh and residing in Urmia, was arrested by Iranian security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.
According to a reliable source, Mr. Azari was detained at his home without a court warrant and with the use of force.
The source added that the arrest was in connection with his participation in Newroz celebrations, which are frequently targeted by authorities in Kurdish regions.
Mohammad Ali Azari is married and the father of two children.
