Kurdistan Newroz Crackdown: Kurdish Civilian Kourosh Fathi Summoned and Interrogated by Police in Bukan

On Thursday, March 27, 2025, Kourosh Fathi, a Kurdish resident of Bukan, was summoned to the Public Places Supervision Office (Edare-ye Amaken) of the Law Enforcement Force in Bukan for participating in a Newroz celebration in the village of Kani Rash.
According to a reliable source, Mr. Fathi was summoned and interrogated specifically for performing a patriotic song during the Newroz event in Kani Rash.
The source added that his case has been referred to the Bukan courthouse for further legal proceedings.
Additionally, the source reported that IRGC Intelligence officers contacted Mr. Fathi by phone and issued threats against him following the event.
Kourosh Fathi is married and a father.
