Ilam; Sasan Chamanara, one of the detainees of the revolutionary uprising of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi, was arrested again
Sasan Chamanara, a Kurdish artist from Ilam and one of the detainees of the revolutionary uprising of Jon, Jiyan, Azadi, was arrested again by the security forces in Ilam.
According to an informed source to Kurdpa; On January 17, 2024, three security forces raided the family home of Sasan Chamanara, and after searching the house, arrested him and transferred him to the detention center of the Ilam Intelligence Department.
This informed source says; this arrest was in line with the case-making and raising new charges against Mr. Chamanara.
On January 24, 2023, Sasan Chamanara was released from the Great Tehran Prison after 109 days of detention by depositing a bail of 500 million Tomans until the end of the trial in the Court of Appeal.
This 33-year-old artist was convicted of “gathering and colluding against national security and propaganda against the regime” by Branch 29 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, headed by Judge “Seyed Ali Mazloum”, to five years of imprisonment and the verdict of this verdict was confirmed in the Court of Appeal.
Mr. Chamanara was deprived of access to a lawyer of his choice during his detention and only had access to it when he appeared in court.
The lawyer of this artist had access to his client’s case only once before the court session and did not have the opportunity and possibility of defense in the court session.
Sasan Chamanara was arrested on October 7, 2022, for participating in the protests without presenting a judicial warrant by the security forces and spent 21 days in the detention center of “One Alpha” of the Sepah Intelligence Organization and 18 days in Ward “209 of Evin Prison” belonging to the Ministry of Intelligence.
This artist was tortured and mistreated by the security forces during his detention and had a one-minute phone call with his family after a month of detention.
Mr. Chamanara was transferred to the Great Tehran Prison after the end of the interrogation and went on a hunger strike in protest of the detention conditions and lack of access to medicine.
