"Varisha" Literary-Cultural Association:
The "Varisha" Literary-Cultural Association is one of the most well-known independent cultural institutions in the county of "Saqqez", which began its activities in 2016 with the aim of protecting the Kurdish language and literature, holding literary meetings, poetry recitals, introducing Kurdish authors and poets, and supporting cultural activities. Over the past years, this association has organized dozens of cultural programs, commemorations for Kurdish poets and writers, book review sessions, and poetry and music gatherings, becoming one of the most important gathering centers for cultural activists in Saqqez. However, the activities of "Varisha" have repeatedly faced pressures and restrictions from security and administrative agencies; ranging from the cancellation or prevention of certain programs to the summoning and pressuring of a number of members and organizers. Despite these obstacles, the "Varisha" association has continued its activities and played an important role in preserving and expanding the Kurdish language, literature, and cultural identity in Saqqez and the region.
