July 26, 2026; "Ali Barati," a 25-year-old Kurmanji Kurd youth and one of the January detainees, was sentenced by a branch of the Revolutionary Court of Bojnurd County on charges of "assembly and collusion against national security" and without the right to access a lawyer to 3 years and 8 months of discretionary imprisonment.
An informed source, confirming this news, told Kurdpa: "Ali Barati," a 25-year-old Kurmanji Kurd youth and one of the January detainees, was sentenced in late June 2026 by a branch of the Revolutionary Court of Bojnurd County, presided over by Judge "Lajevardi," and without the right to have a lawyer, on charges of "assembly and collusion against national security" to 3 years and 8 months of discretionary imprisonment.
According to this informed source, "Ali Barati" was arrested on January 9, 2026, without a judicial warrant by security forces and transferred to an unknown location. After one week of arbitrary detention, he was temporarily released on January 15, 2026, upon posting a bail of 3 billion Tomans.
During the period of arbitrary detention, this Kurdish youth was deprived of the right to access a lawyer and to have visits and phone calls with his family; furthermore, throughout all stages of the case proceedings, he was deprived of the right to have a lawyer.
