July 26, 2026; "Erfan Sajjadi," a 20-year-old Kurmanji Kurd youth and one of the January detainees, has been sentenced in absentia by the Revolutionary Court of Bojnurd County on charges of "propaganda against the system" to 6 months of discretionary imprisonment and a cash fine of 200 million Tomans.
An informed source, confirming this news, told Kurdpa: "Erfan Sajjadi," a 20-year-old Kurmanji Kurd youth and one of the January detainees, was sentenced in late June 2026 in absentia and without the right to access a lawyer by Branch Two of the Revolutionary Court of Bojnurd County on charges of "propaganda against the system" to 6 months of discretionary imprisonment and a cash fine of 200 million Tomans.
According to this informed source, "Erfan Sajjadi" was arrested on January 8, 2026, without a judicial warrant by security forces and transferred to an unknown location. After a few days, he was temporarily released upon posting bail in the form of a business license. According to this source, during the few days of arbitrary detention, he was subjected to physical and psychological torture, such that "bruises on his hands, legs, and neck" were visible for a long time.
During the detention period, this Kurdish youth was deprived of the right to access a lawyer and to have visits and phone calls with his family; furthermore, even after temporary release, he was deprived of the right to have a lawyer during the case proceedings.
