Piranshahr; Arbitrary and violent detention of Sabah Bivareh and transfer to an unknown location
May 16, 2026; in the continuation of the wave of arbitrary detentions of Kurdish citizens in Iranian Kurdistan, a young Kurdish man from "Piranshahr" named "Sabah Bivareh" was arbitrarily and violently arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
An informed source, while confirming this news to Kurdpa, said: On the evening of Thursday, May 14, 2026, "Sabah Bivareh," a 23-year-old Kurdish youth from the village of "Kalakin" in the vicinity of "Piranshahr" in "Azerbaijan-e Gharbi" Province, was violently arrested following a raid by security forces on his home without the presentation of a judicial warrant and was transferred to an unknown location.
Until the publication of this news, there is no information regarding the reasons for the detention of this Kurdish citizen, and security forces have provided no explanation in this regard. Furthermore, since the time of his arrest, he has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer, meetings, and contact with his family, and his family is in a state of complete lack of news regarding his fate.
