Quchan Prison; 47 Days of Arbitrary Detention and Uncertainty for Mehdi Bahadori
February 24, 2026; After 47 days since the arbitrary detention of “Mehdi Bahadori,” a Kurdish citizen from city of Quchan in Khorasan Razavi Province, he continues to be held in detention in a state of uncertainty. Following a period of interrogation in a security detention center, he was transferred to Quchan Prison.
An informed source, while confirming this news, told Kurdpa: “Mehdi Bahadori,” a Kurmanj Kurdish youth from city of Quchan, was violently detained on January 9, 2026, by security forces without a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location. Following the completion of his interrogation, he was transferred to Quchan Prison and is now being held there in a state of legal uncertainty.
During his 47 days of detention, he has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer and meetings with his family.
Mehdi Bahadori worked as a barber in city of Quchan.
