Anniversary of the State Killing of Ramin Fatehi: Interrogators Tell Voria, "Your Brother Was Killed Right Here on This Day"
October 22, 2025; On the third anniversary of the state killing of Ramin Fatehi, one of the victims of the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" revolutionary uprising, pressure and threats against his family continue unabated. This is a family where one child died under torture, two others—Voria and Rada—were detained and tortured, and their mother has been repeatedly summoned and arrested. Now, coinciding with the anniversary of Ramin's death, security agencies have intensified their campaign of repression and intimidation against this justice-seeking family by re-summoning and interrogating Voria Fatehi.
Rada Fatehi, Ramin’s sister and a former detainee of the uprising, wrote on her Instagram page regarding the continuation of these pressures: "This morning, October 22, 2025, my brother Voria Fatehi was once again summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Administration. Over the past month, he has been summoned to this security institution three times, subjected to hours of interrogation and threats. Interrogators ordered him to remain 'accessible' and to refrain from any presence or communication they deem sensitive."
According to Rada Fatehi, this summons took place on the exact third anniversary of Ramin’s death. During the interrogation, the Intelligence Administration officers told Voria: "This is the same day that Ramin lost his life right here."
She states that these words were spoken deliberately to exert psychological pressure on the family, aiming to exhaust justice-seeking families with emotional trauma and divert them from the path of seeking justice. Rada emphasized that these consecutive summonses and recent threats, much like the previous arrests and interrogations, are part of a continuous and organized process of suppressing justice-seeking families, rather than isolated incidents.
Rada Fatehi concluded her post by writing: "We, the justice-seeking families, will not be silenced by pressure, summons, interrogations, or prison. The names of Ramin and all the victims of your 47 years of crime—you murderers—are a demand for justice, and this pursuit of justice will remain steadfast."
On October 21, 2022, 48-year-old Ramin Fatehi was killed under torture by security forces in a detention center in Sanandaj following his arrest during the popular protests. Security agencies claimed his cause of death was "suicide" and buried his body in the "Behesht-e Mohammadi" cemetery in Sanandaj without the family's permission.
