Tehran; Detention of Gezing Ghazi, Kurdish Writer, by Security Forces

On Thursday, October 9, 2025, Gezing Ghazi, a Kurdish writer from Mahabad and a resident of Tehran, was detained by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.

According to an informed source, security forces raided Ms. Ghazi's private residence without presenting a judicial warrant and detained her.

The informed source added: "The security forces also confiscated and took the writer's mobile phone."

The informed source stated: "Gezing Ghazi has had only one short telephone call with her family during the period of her detention."
