Mahabad: Pouria Nasiri Sentenced to Three Months of Suspended Imprisonment

Pouria Nasiri, an undergraduate law student at Islamic Azad University of Mahabad, has been sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad to three months of suspended imprisonment for a duration of two years.
According to a knowledgeable source, his court session was held in August 2025 at the Mahabad Revolutionary Court, where he was charged with “propaganda against the regime.”
On Thursday, June 20, 2025, security forces arrested this Kurdish student without presenting a judicial warrant on a street in Mahabad. After 19 days in pre-trial detention, he was released on bail from Mahabad Prison on July 8, 2025.
Pouria Nasiri had previously been arrested by security forces on Monday, October 30, 2023, as well.
