Ilam: Court Session Held for Political Activist Mousa Omidi

On Monday, August 18, 2025, a court session was held for Mousa Omidi, a political activist and head of the United Kurdish Front in Ilam Province, at Branch 1 of the Ilam Revolutionary Court to address the charges brought against him.
During the session, Omidi defended himself against the charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “spreading false information.”
On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Mr. Omidi had been summoned to Branch 7 of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Ilam Public and Revolutionary Court over the same charges of “spreading false information” and “propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, security forces raided his home without presenting a judicial warrant and arrested the political activist.
Security forces also confiscated some of Mr. Omidi’s personal belongings, including his mobile phone, laptop, and books.
In March 2023, this political activist had previously been summoned by the Ilam Prosecutor’s Office on the charge of “propaganda in favor of groups or organizations opposed to the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
