Transfer of Amin Karimi, Artist and Theater Actor, to Urmia Prison

On Monday, August 11, 2025, Amin Karimi, known as “Aminu,” an artist and theater actor from Urmia, was transferred from the Intelligence Office detention center to Urmia Central Prison after completing his interrogation.

According to an informed source, during his detention, the artist was denied visits with his family and was interrogated at the Urmia Intelligence Office detention center.

Karimi had previously been arrested by security forces during the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi revolutionary uprising and was released after one month of interrogation.

Recently, his television series Tajdin and Amine, directed by Karimi, had received widespread audience acclaim.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Karimi was arrested by security forces at the Sarv border crossing in Urmia while returning from Turkey. So far, no precise information has been obtained regarding the reason for his arrest or the charges brought against him.
