As of August 3, 2025, 28 days have passed since the arbitrary and violent arrest of Asad Sedighi, a civil activist from Saqqez, with no information available about his fate. He remains denied any contact or visits with his family and has no access to legal counsel.

On Sunday, July 20, 2025, Sedighi — a member of the Halo Mountaineering Group in Saqqez and a native of Kavomleh village in Saqqez County — was transferred to one of Sanandaj’s security detention centers for further interrogation, five days after being arrested by security forces in Saqqez.

On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, security forces raided his home in Kavomleh village without presenting a judicial warrant and arrested him.

As of the time of this report, the reasons for his arrest and the charges brought against this member of the Halo Mountaineering Group remain unknown.
