Mahabad: Arbitrary Arrest of Football Coach Rebwâr Mostafazadeh and Continued Incommunicado Detention After Five Days

As part of the ongoing wave of arrests targeting Kurdish citizens in Kurdistan, Rebwâr Mostafazadeh (also known as Rebwâr Kaplo), a Kurdish citizen and football coach from Mahabad, was arrested by security forces. His whereabouts and condition remain unknown.

According to a reliable source speaking to Kurdpa, on Monday, June 23, 2025, Mr. Mostafazadeh was summoned to the Mahabad Intelligence Office, where he was arbitrarily arrested without a judicial warrant and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Five days after his detention, no information has been provided regarding his fate or whereabouts. He has reportedly been denied access to legal counsel and has not been allowed contact with his family.
