Baneh; Arrest of Hakim Mohammadi Pour, Environmental Activist by Security Forces

On Sunday, July 16th, Hakim Mohammadi Pour, an environmental activist and member of the Pajin Baneh Environmental Association, was arrested by security forces.

According to an informed source, the security forces detained this environmental activist without presenting a judicial warrant.

The source added that Mr. Mohammadi Pour has been transferred to the detention center of the Baneh Intelligence Agency for interrogation.

This informed source stated that this environmental activist and animal rights supporter has been deprived of access to phone calls, meeting with his family, and access to a lawyer.

This Kurdish activist has a history of summons and arrests by security entities in Baneh.

As of the time of this report, the reason for the arrest and the charges against this environmental activist are not known.
