Three Kurdish citizens transferred to the Central Prison in Saqez

Kurdpa Agency: Kurdish citizens introduce themselves to prison authorities in Saqez.

Based on reports received by Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa), three Kurdish citizens named “Ardalan (Gharib) Sharifzadeh, Hemin (Rahim) Hosseini, and Kamal Sharifzadeh,” introduced themselves to the prison authorities in Saqez to begin their sentences.

The three Kurdish men were arrested back in 2016 and sentenced on charges related to \"membership and support to one of the Kurdish parties’ opposition to the Iran regime.” The three accordingly were charged with imprisonment based on Article 500 of the Islamic Penal Code.

Ardalan Sharifzadeh, son of Jalil, was convicted to a one-year imprisonment on the charge of \"propaganda against the Iranian government through the formation of a group in the cyberspace in favor of one of the Kurdish opposition parties\" on the basis of Article 500 of the Penal Code. His sentencing was later reduced to 10-month imprisonment.

Kamil Sharifzadeh, son of Khalil, was also charged with \"membership in a Kurdish opposition organization to the Iran regime and with propaganda against the Islamic State of Iran,” with reference to article 500 of the Islamic Penal Code, was sentenced to six months of imprisonment, which was reduced to five months in prison.

Hemin (Rahim) Hosseini was also sentenced to six months\' imprisonment on charges of \"membership in an opposition Kurdish Party and propaganda against the Islamic State of Iran\", according to Article 500 of the Islamic Penal Code, which was later reduced to four months in prison.

The three Kurdish citizens are currently serving their sentence in the central prison in Saqez.
