September 17, 2026; As part of an ongoing wave of arbitrary and violent detentions targeting Kurdish citizens across Kurdistan, five Kurdish citizens in Urmia were violently arrested by security forces. Two days after their arbitrary detentions, their whereabouts and fates remain completely unknown. All five individuals are denied access to legal representation, family visits, and telephone contact.

Informed sources confirmed the arrests to Kurdpa, stating: On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, "Farhang Dehghan," a 37-year-old mechanic from "Dizaj-e Mergavar," was violently detained at his workplace. Security forces raided the premises, physically assaulted him, and arrested him without presenting a judicial warrant before transferring him to an undisclosed location.

On the same day, "Majid Ebtehaj," a Kurdish citizen from "Ziveh" in the Mergavar region of Urmia, was similarly arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant and taken to an unknown location.

Additionally, "Vahed Shabani," "Behdar Asadi," and "Saleh Darboubechichak"—three Kurdish citizens from "Gesian" village in the Mergavar region of Urmia—were also among those detained on September 16. They were arrested without judicial warrants by security forces and transferred to undisclosed facilities.

As of this reporting, the official grounds for the arrests of these five Kurdish citizens remain unannounced, and security agencies have offered no explanation to their families. All five individuals continue to be held in complete incommunicado detention.
