Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa): Kurdish people in Rojhelat (Iranian Kurdistan) began a general strike against the execution of Kurdish political prisoners as well as the missile attacks on the headquarters of the Democratic Party in the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Today, Wednesday, September 12, 2018, Kurdish people went on public strike. Following the Iran’s missile attacks and the execution of three Kurdish political prisoners on the 8th of September, the Cooperation Center of Iranian Kurdistan’s Political Parties called on Kurdish people in Rojhelat (Eastern Kurdistan) to stage a general strike in Iranian Kurdistan.
By closing their shops, people in major cities including Sna (Sanandaj), Urmia, Sawlawa (Saroabad), Saqqez, Bokan (Bookan), Bana (Baneh), Pawa (Paweh), Kamyaran, Sadasht, Piranshar (Piranshahr) and Shno (Oshnavieh) answered the call.
In reaction to the strike, the Iranian Intelligence forces have started to mark the closed shops with spray in order to threaten their owners.
Security condition has dominated the Eastern Kurdistan’s cities like Bana and Shno as the Iranian Intelligence Service has threatened the shop owners with severe punishment if they disobey reopening their shops.
According to reports received by our agency, Iranian forces arrested four young Kurdish men in Shno and summoned a few human rights activists in Sna during the early hours of the day.
Iranian Intelligence forces in plain clothes from Mariwan Intelligence Office arrested three Kurdish human rights activists, Soran Daneshwar, Aram Fathi and Moslem Bahrami and transferred them to an unknown whereabouts.
