Officials at Urmia Central Prison have executed 52 political prisoners between 1991 and 2019.
In an interview with Kurdpa, Osman Mostafapour, a Kurdish political prisoner, said: "During my imprisonment in Urmia Central Prison, these 52 political prisoners were executed."
This Kurdish political prisoner said: "These political prisoners were sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Urmia on charges of membership in the Kurdish opposition parties of the Iranian government and connection with hostile states."
Osman Mostafapour stated: Political prisoners in the Revolutionary Court of Urmia were sentenced to death in a few minutes and out of these 52 political prisoners, 33 political prisoners were executed on charges of cooperation and membership in the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI).
In May of this year, Osman Mostafapour, a Kurdish political prisoner, left Iran due to pressure from the Piranshahr Intelligence Bureau.
Osman Mostafapour was arrested in the Targavar Rural District in Urmia in July, 1991. He was later sentenced to death on charges of "membership in a Kurdish opposition party." then in Supreme Court of Iran has sentenced Osman Osmanpour to 25 years in prison and 10 years in prison for clashes with IRGC forces.
Osman Mostafapour and Mohammad Nazari were released from Urmia Central Prison on Thursday, November 21, 2019 after 52 years in prison.
