A six-year prison sentence for an environmental activist was issued in Sanandaj

 Chia Mohammadi, an environmental activist in Sanandaj, was sentenced to six years in prison by the Fourth branch, Court of Appeals, presided over by Judge "Tayyari".

 This environmental activist had previously been sentenced to five years in prison by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj.

 Chia Mohammadi was arrested on February 23rd, 2019 and spent six months in solitary confinement and was released on 800 million Toman bail.

 He was charged with "associating with the Kurdish opposition parties of the Iranian government, acting against national security, propaganda against the system and spreading lies".

 In another case, this environmental activist was summoned to a second interrogation branch on charges of "gathering and colluding against the system" and was released on bail.  He is also awaiting trial and a verdict in this case.
