A citizen from Marivan was sentenced to three years in prison

On Saturday, January 16th, the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj sentenced 28-year-old Kurdish citizen Zana Kasraei,  son of Hiva, from the village of Ney in Marivan, to three years in prison.

The court sentenced this citizen to three years in prison on charges of "membership in a Kurdish opposition party of the Iranian government" and acquitted him from "propaganda against the regime."

This citizen has been appealed against the verdict of the court of first trial and his case has been referred to the Sanandaj Court of Appeals for review.

Zana Kasraei was arrested by security forces on Sunday, July 19, 2020 on charges of "collaborating with a Kurdish opposition party of the Iranian government" and was transferred to a security detention center in Sanandaj for questioning.

This citizen was temporarily released on bail after 22 days of detention and interrogation period.
