Sanandaj: Arbitrary Detention of Dariush Rahimi and His Transfer to an Unknown Location

August 16, 2026; Yesterday evening, "Dariush Rahimi", a 45-year-old Kurdish citizen from Sanandaj, was arrested by security forces without presenting a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location, and to date no information is available regarding his fate.

According to an informed source speaking to Kurdpa; on Saturday evening, August 15, 2026, security forces raided the home of "Dariush Rahimi" and arrested him without presenting a judicial warrant, transferring him to an unknown location.

During this arbitrary arrest, security forces thoroughly searched the residence and, without presenting legal authorization, confiscated and took away the mobile phones and belongings of his family members as well.

Until the time of publication of this news, no information is available regarding the reasons for the arrest and possible charges against this Kurdish citizen, and security forces have offered no explanation in this regard. Furthermore, since the time of his arrest, Dariush Rahimi has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer, family visits, and telephone calls.
