Soma Rahimi: "My Father Was Wrongfully Killed; I Want to Be the Voice for All Kolbars Killed in Silence"
July 4, 2026; One day following the killing of “Wazir Rahimi,” a 57-year-old Kolbar from Shaho, his daughter, “Soma Rahimi,” released a video message addressing her father's death by border regiment forces in Nowsud. In the video, she states: "My father was wrongfully killed, and they stripped away the greatest joy of my life. I want to be the voice not just for my father, but for all the Kolbars who were killed in silence and secrecy, with no one speaking up for them."
The literal transcription of the spoken statement by Soma Rahimi, daughter of the slain Kolbar Wazir Rahimi, is as follows:
"Hello. I wanted to record this video in Persian so that the whole world understands that I am in mourning. I am the youngest daughter of that same 57-year-old man whom the border regiment forces showed no mercy to and killed in Nowsud. I am the girl who no longer has a father. I am the girl who was her father's sole joy in life, but you took my father away from me. My father was not carrying any cargo with him. You shot him directly. His injuries were so severe that he passed away instantly. My father was a very good man; he wouldn't even hurt an ant. But you shot him directly and killed him. My father had five children, and now we are all orphaned. I lost the greatest joy of my life; you took my joy away from me. I am the girl who just yesterday buried her father with her own hands and said goodbye to him. I want to be the voice of my father—and not just my father, but the voice of all the Kolbars who were killed in silence and secrecy, and no one spoke about them. I want this video to go viral so everyone knows my father was killed wrongfully. His wounds were so intense that he lost his life right then and there. My father left us yesterday, Friday, July 3. You took my father from me. I am not even 25 years old yet; my birthday is in ten days. I wanted to celebrate my birthday with my dad, but you didn't let me. You took my dad away and left us fatherless. I want this video to go viral so everyone knows my father was wrongfully killed."
