Urmia; Forouzan Nojavan (Eslami) Was Released on Heavy Bail After 17 Days of Arbitrary Detention
On Saturday, May 30, 2026, Forouzan Nojavan (Eslami), from Urmia, an English language teacher and manager of the "Nojavan" Language Academy, was temporarily released from the women's ward of Urmia Prison after 17 days of arbitrary detention upon posting a heavy bail of 5 billion Tomans.
According to an informed source speaking to Kurdpa, this English language teacher was deprived of access to a lawyer and visitation with her family during her detention period.
Ms. Nojavan was transferred to the women's ward of the Central Prison of Urmia after the completion of her interrogation phases.
On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, Forouzan Nojavan (Eslami), the manager of the "Nojavan" Language Academy, was arrested by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant and was transferred to the "9 Palleh" security detention center in Urmia for interrogation.
Forouzan Nojavan (Eslami) is a prominent Kurdish blogger in Urmia, and up to this point, no information is available regarding the reason for her detention or the charges against her.
